“April showers bring May flowers,” as the saying goes. When the spring months start, so does the rain. As much as we all want to break out the grills to truly welcome the warmer weather, it may not be the best time yet.  So what CAN you do on a gloomy, rainy day? Sitting on the couch watching movies sounds like the perfect rainy day to us. So does making some tasty rainy day recipes. “What are those,” you ask? Recipes for a rainy day can be anything, but we think they should be healthy, yet comforting and easy to prepare.

From our kitchen to yours, we’d like to share a few great rainy day recipes to provide some inspiration.

Those 45 minutes are just enough time to watch an episode of your favorite show! Our sweet apple chicken sausage gives this dish its sweetness, while the sauerkraut provides the bitterness. This recipe makes four servings and is sure to comfort your food cravings.

Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage with Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Aiming for something similar, but maybe a bit less bitter? Our sweet apple chicken sausage in homemade macaroni and cheese brings the sweet but ditched the sour. Just like the Gratin, this dish is super easy and quick to prepare. For four servings, prep time is around 10 minutes and cooking it takes 15 minutes. This is a great dish for when you want to get off of the couch for a quick break.

Sun-dried Tomato Chicken Sausage Broccoli Salad
