One Pot spicy chicken sausage pasta

"ONE POT spicy chicken sausage pasta to bring you the coziest weeknight meal this season. This recipe is a great go to when you are pressed for time and need something healthy to pull together last minute. A definite must, giving you more time to cozy up on your couch and put on some Hallmark movies. Go pick up yours today! "

Ingredients

1 package of al fresco Roasted Pepper & Asiago Chicken Sausage

cooking spray or olive oil to fry

1 onion, finely diced

2 tsp Old Bay seasoning

24 oz jar of tomato sauce

3 cups chicken stock

1 cup of frozen peas

14 oz rigatoni

4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

Directions:

  • 1Sautee chicken sausage in large pot, for about 3-5 minutes on medium heat
  • 2Add diced onions and old bay seasoning and cook until onions are translucent
  • 3Next add tomato sauce and chicken stock, and bring to a rolling simmer
  • 4Stir the pasta into the pot and lower the heat to simmer, covering the pot
  • 5Cook, stirring occasionally until rigatoni is cooked through (around 10 – 12 minutes)
  • 6Once pasta is cooked, add in frozen peas and parmesan cheese and stir around for about 3 minutes
  • 7Serve hot
